How To Install
| |
- Tools Needed:
- Tape measure, drill (1/16" bit), hammer, adhesive, pencil, sand paper, straight edge, stain or paint, safety glasses, fine tooth saw, level, wood putty, finish nails.
- For Best Results:
- Pre-drill, sand and finish all blocks and wood molding before installing. All blocks should be installed before molding is cut to fit.
| |
Step 1: Position blocks as indicated in the descriptions below making sure they are level and plumb. Stabilize the block from movement. Secure blocks in place with glue and finish nails.

Step 2:
Measure for a snug fit between blocks for length of each piece of moulding. Cut to fit with easy straight cuts.
Step 3:
Nail each piece of moulding or casing in place starting at one end and working to the other. Make sure to keep moulding or casing as straight as possible. (Base blocks and rosette blocks are sightly wider than most casing. When installing casing, center on the blocks. This will leave a 1/4" reveal on the inside edge of the window or doorway opening.)
Step 4:
Countersink all nail heads and fill with wood putty. Touch up with paint or stain.
